Most of this release is about improving the check-in experience.
A stalled check-in now finishes — If the connection dropped near the end of a check-in, the check-in was never analyzed and you were left on an upload spinner that never resolved. We have a new fix: If a session stalls, we close the check-in with what arrived, analyze it, mark it partial, and take you to your summary. You may see a check-in marked partial where you previously saw a spinner.
Some check-ins were scored partially based on audio issues — If your connection dropped and reconnected during a check-in, audio recorded after the reconnect could overwrite audio recorded before it. There was no error and nothing looked wrong. Audio is now tracked per session, filed by recording time, and checked against storage before anything is scored.
"No audio detected" was trickier than it seemed — On iPhone, a notification tone or an AirPods switch can suspend recording. We carried on recording silence for the rest of the check-in and then told you to check your microphone. We now restart the audio when you tap record, and if that fails we say the microphone was interrupted and offer to reconnect. We believe this is fixed but cannot reproduce the original fault on demand, so if it happens again on a microphone you know works, please tell us.
Galaxy S25 face tracking recovers instead of stopping — A single bad camera frame used to end face tracking for the rest of the session, leaving you on "make sure only one person is in frame" for 45 seconds. Face tracking now rebuilds itself, up to three times. If it does stop, it says so immediately and offers Continue Without Video. The separate "two faces" issue on the S25 is still open.
"Skip to check-in" and the onboarding button" — Skip to check-in" was refused every time it appeared. The onboarding start button could say "Starting..." and then do nothing, leaving a page reload as the only way forward. Both work now.
Receipts on card purchases — Card purchases now send a receipt. They did not before.
Smaller changes — Returning users no longer see "First one's in the book." Sanora no longer says "Finally," partway through the results walkthrough. Account details now shows Member since.
We rebuilt how Sanora handles a conversation, fixed a scoring bug and repaired the scores it affected, and turned off the camera when it's not needed.
Sanora keeps its place — We rebuilt the way a conversation turn works. Replies that used to disappear, show up twice, or land under the wrong message should now stay where they belong. Sanora sounds the same.
"Continue Without Video" now turns the camera off — It used to hide the video preview and leave the camera running. That is fixed. Choose Continue Without Video and the camera stops, your device's camera light goes out, and nothing more is processed for the rest of the session. When video is on, it is still processed live on your device and never recorded.
Check-ins start when you tap start — On a slow connection, a check-in could sit on a spinner and never begin. That is fixed.
Voice transcription tells you the truth — The app used to say "listening" about three seconds before the microphone was actually connected. It now waits until the connection is live. If it fails, you get a real error and a Try Again button.
Your scores are up to date— A bug made some check-ins return the same score over and over instead of the real one. Two separate causes, both fixed. We recalculated every affected past session on August 8, so your history reads correctly now.
A weekly reminder, offered once — After your first check-in you can set a weekly reminder, filled in from the check-in you just finished. One tap, and you can skip it.
DBT Diary Card — The weekly summary is open to every DBT user now. And if you start a DBT card for a day you already logged, you go straight into that entry with Continue or Edit, instead of hitting an error that tells you to go find it yourself.
For team leaders — Your group scores will shift on the next nightly rebuild. Five weeks of check-ins were held out of the population baseline by the scoring bug above, and they all come back in at once. If your numbers move, that is the correction working.
Invites and ambassadors — Invite links now come with a QR code you can download as an SVG and print at any size. Backoffice copies the whole join link, not just the code. Codes that have been disabled now say so everywhere, so nobody hands out a link or a printed QR that stopped working weeks ago.
Known issue: transcription on some networks — Some networks block the port our transcription provider uses, and the app cannot route around it. If your check-in cannot hear you and Try Again keeps failing, that is almost certainly why. A different network or cellular usually works. We are working on a permanent fix.
Smaller fixes — A developer placeholder was showing on the check-in results page. Chrome stopped offering to autofill a saved credit card over the chat box.
We've been busy. The biggest change: Okaya now opens straight into a conversation with Sanora, and your resources, results, and even voice all live right there. If it's been a while, here's what's new.
You now start in chat — Sign in and you land in a conversation with Sanora. No dashboard to dig through. Ask for what you need and it comes to you, right in the chat.
Resources that find you — Sanora surfaces the right resources inside your conversation, matched to what you're actually saying. Tap any resource to preview it before you open it. They're also on the Resources menu and on your check-in results.
A guided look at your results — After a check-in, we walk you through what your results mean, with a spoken summary and a step to set or revisit a goal. First check-ins get a tailored welcome, and DBT users get a redesigned first-run experience.
Talk instead of type — Voice chat is now a single tap to start and stop. Speak to Sanora whenever typing isn't convenient.
Smoother on every device — A new bottom navigation bar keeps Sanora one tap away on mobile, sign-in is more reliable, and chat replies no longer cut off mid-thought.
Stronger safety, always within reach — We've strengthened how Okaya handles sensitive moments, and crisis resources are always one tap away.
For team leaders — Admins can now turn on an optional safety-event log that surfaces high-risk signals on the My Crew dashboard. It's privacy-safe by design: structured signals only, never names or transcripts. Orgs can also set a primary persona (Athlete, First Responder, Service Member) so chat speaks to your team's world.
+ We’ll now post product updates here and in the top banner — check back weekly.
+ Tip: add an Okaya shortcut to your phone’s home screen for one-tap check-ins — watch a quick demo.
+ We updated the layout of our history and checkin results pages.
+ Sanora chat is in early beta — we welcome our first wave of testers.
